Project Overview
The Lake Ewauna Restoration project focuses on the ecological and public-realm enhancement of the Lake Ewauna shoreline in Klamath Falls. In collaboration with River Design Group, Method developed a comprehensive site plan to restore degraded shoreline conditions, expand wetland habitat, and create new opportunities for public access, education, and interpretation along the lake’s edge.
Design Intent
The primary design objective was to support long-term ecological restoration while strengthening the relationship between people and the lake. The landscape approach treats public access, habitat enhancement, and interpretation as interconnected systems—allowing visitors to experience the lake without compromising ongoing restoration efforts.
Landscape Strategy
The site plan emphasizes wetland expansion, naturalized shoreline treatments, and habitat-supportive planting strategies that reinforce existing ecological processes. Trails, viewing platforms, and shoreline improvements are carefully positioned to frame views, guide movement, and minimize disturbance, allowing visitors to engage with the landscape while protecting sensitive areas.
A suite of illustrative diagrams, renderings, and plan graphics was developed to clearly communicate the project vision—demonstrating how restored landscapes, public access, and ecological function work together as a cohesive system.
