This 8-story mass timber structure will provide 105 units of affordable homes supported by CLT floor diagrams, glulam beams and columns, and steel-braced frames.
To integrate compelling landscape elements into this tight high-density site, the design prioritizes vertical and mobile elements. Along the foundation, raised steel planters soften the edge to the public sidewalk, and wall trellises allow vines to grow from the planters up the building façade. On the roof deck, planters add to the space’s calm atmosphere. Site furnishings for the food hall can easily be folded and stored when not in use.
